Only 3 days after Gary Stevens left WMCA/New York (see the previous Aircheck Of The Week), it was Harry Harrison’s turn to move on. This is Harry’s last WMCA show, preceded by the end of Dandy Dan Daniel’s show, and followed by “your main man Jake”, Jack Spector. By the following week, WMCA sounded like a completely different station. Meanwhile, Harry became WABC’s “Morning Mayor”, replacing Herb Oscar Anderson. It’s September 1968 and changes are in the air on Boss Radio 66.

The end of Dan Daniel's show, followed by Gary Stevens with his one-hour swan song to New York radio. After that, the debut of Lee Gray, AKA Leee Your Leeeder. This marks the beginning of the end for WMCA as an influential music station. Three days later, Harry Harrison did his final WMCA show, and you'll hear it next week in this space.
